This is a wonderful example of an Ethiopian coffee and the second time we’ve bought coffee from this young, forward-thinking cooperative. In the cup, expect intense jasmine and magnolia florals, followed by stone fruits, hops and honey. It makes one of the best espresso shots we've had in a long time. Very, very tasty.

Co-op: Biftu Gudina
Origin: Ethiopia
Region: Jimma Zone
Process: Washed

Taste: Soft and juicy with intense florals. Notes of peach, apricot, and lime.

Whilst the region is less known than the rest of Yirgacheffe, it’s fast becoming renowned within the specialty circle. The coop is made up of around130 smallholders and each receives a premium for the quality of their coffee, up to 4 times higher than the average.

This coffee is a result of a sustainable Technoserve project, focusing on price transparency and increased quality production. Technoserve is an NGO supporting the farmers in setting up washing stations and new cooperative structures. They are organic certified and have a unique wastewater treatment that uses Vetiver grass naturally filtrating the water before it goes into the pits and finally the ground.
